General Driving Rules

  • Maintain a safe following distance of at least 3 seconds
  • Observe the speed limit of 80 km/h maximum
  • Keep to your designated lane - no overtaking in tunnel
  • Turn on headlights at all times while in the tunnel
  • Do not stop or park in the tunnel except in emergencies
  • Follow all traffic signals and variable message signs

Emergency Procedures

  • In case of breakdown, move to the emergency lane if possible
  • Turn on hazard lights immediately
  • Exit your vehicle and move to the nearest emergency walkway
  • Use emergency telephones located every 100 meters
  • Follow instructions from tunnel control center
  • Do not attempt repairs inside the tunnel

Fire Safety

  • If you detect fire or smoke, alert other drivers with hazard lights
  • Exit the tunnel immediately via the nearest exit
  • Use cross-passages to reach the other tunnel bore if necessary
  • Call emergency services using tunnel phones
  • Do not use elevators during fire emergencies
  • Follow evacuation instructions from emergency personnel

Vehicle Requirements

  • Ensure your vehicle is in good working condition
  • Check fuel levels before entering - no fuel stations in tunnel
  • Vehicles carrying hazardous materials require special permits
  • Maximum vehicle height: 4.5 meters
  • Motorcycles and bicycles are prohibited
  • Oversize vehicles require escort and special arrangements
